Affiliate disclosure.

Every network

The networks we may earn from.

This is the whole list, generated from the site's own affiliate configuration rather than typed here, so it cannot fall out of date. A network marked live is one we have been accepted into and may earn from today. A network marked not active earns us nothing and publishes no link on this site — it is listed so the list is complete.

Where a network requires particular wording, we reproduce it exactly. Amazon requires this sentence, so it appears above the first Amazon link on every page that carries one: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

A link that earns is marked rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" in the page source and opens in a new tab. A link that earns nothing — a manufacturer's own specification page, for instance — is never marked that way, because saying a link pays us when it does not would be a false statement about money.

Amazon Associates

Some links on Wanted Wire are affiliate links.

Wanted Wire participates in the Amazon Associates US programme. It means we may earn a small commission when you buy something after following one of our links, at no extra cost to you.

Our Amazon Associates store ID is wantedwire-20. It is public by design: it appears in the address of every tagged link, so you can see it before you click.

How links work

Two types of links.

We use two kinds of Amazon link, and the words on the button tell you which one you are about to follow. Both may earn us a commission.

Either way the maker's own page stays on the card, and that link earns nothing. The tracking ID goes on Amazon links only — never on a manufacturer's or retailer's own address, where it would track nothing and would dress an ordinary link up as a paid one.

Editorial independence

Our editorial independence.

Recommendations are based on research and on what the hardware actually does. Affiliate links do not influence news coverage, opinion or editorial decisions, and we do not accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage. If a product does not meet the standard, it is not recommended.

• Which products appear. The catalogue is chosen on what the hardware does, and it includes the cheapest option in each range as well as the most expensive.
• What a specification says. Those are the manufacturer's own figures with the date they were read.
• The advice to buy nothing. The setup builder returns that answer when it is the right one, and it will keep returning it.

Prices

Why no prices are printed here.

This site publishes no prices for hardware. Prices move by region, retailer and promotion, and a stale price is worse than none — so every button opens the merchant's own page, where the current figure lives. Where a price is published, for the game itself, it carries the retailer and the date it was read.

If Wanted Wire joins an affiliate programme, three things happen at once and this page is one of them: the statement at the top changes, the note under every product block changes, and affiliate links are marked rel="sponsored" so they are machine-readable as paid links. The site is built so those switch together — it is not possible to start earning here while this page still says otherwise.
